This policy explains what personal information Gemma Tuffee Travel Consultancy collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.
Who we are
Gemma Tuffee Travel Consultancy is a travel consultancy based in London, United Kingdom. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, contact us at dream_explorer@outlook.com or on +44 7534 884 266.
What we collect
We only collect information you actively give us. Specifically:
- Trip enquiries. Your name, email address and (optionally) phone number, together with the trip details you choose to share — destination, travel dates, number of travellers, budget, travel style, accommodation preferences, activities, dietary requirements, any special occasion, and any additional comments.
- Newsletter signups. Your email address and a record that you opted in, including the date and the exact wording you agreed to.
- Analytics. If — and only if — you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location. Your IP address is anonymised. See our Cookie Policy.
We do not collect payment details through this website, and we never ask for them by email.
Special category data
Dietary requirements can reveal information about health or religious belief, which UK GDPR treats as special category data. We collect it only because you volunteer it so we can arrange your trip properly, we use it for nothing else, and you are free to leave the field blank.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and plan your trip. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract.
- To send you marketing emails. Lawful basis: your consent. You give it by ticking the box; you can withdraw it at any time.
- To understand how the website is used. Lawful basis: your consent, via the cookie banner.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Sanity — stores your enquiry securely so it cannot be lost.
- EmailJS — delivers the notification email that tells us you have been in touch.
- Netlify — hosts this website and serves its pages.
- Google Analytics — usage statistics, only with your consent.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where data is transferred abroad it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.
Our travel advice pages fetch information from the UK Government’s public GOV.UK content service. That request is made by our server, not your browser, so GOV.UK does not receive your IP address or any personal information.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off and meet our record-keeping obligations. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period afterwards to make sure we honour the unsubscribe. After that, records are deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to another provider;
- withdraw your consent to marketing or analytics at any time.
To exercise any of these, email dream_explorer@outlook.com. We will respond within one month. You will never be charged for making a request.
To stop receiving marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or just reply and ask.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will ask for your consent again.
